Keynesian Exercise (Macro Economy)
Manipulate a virtual economy at will here by raising government
spending, plugging in the current marginal rate, and introducing taxes -
and then watch the graph change to show actual demand and aggregate
demand as measured against income. This sophisticated macroeconomics
interactive tool is a guided exercise using the Keynesian cross. Other models:
Mundell-Fleming DAD-SAS model ,Solow model.
Pedestrian's Guide to Economics
This is an understandable, interactive, online textbook of economics
based on a book by Orley M. Amos, Jr., Professor of Economics at
Oklahoma State University. Highly readable and annotated by notes
in a frame to the right of the main text, the guide is both a useful
introduction to economics, and a helpful reference for the initiated.
Its extensive interlinking of terms with definitions and explanations
(which could only be simulated in a printed book with a very great
deal of page flipping) demonstrates the effectiveness of
interactivity in studying online.
Essential Principles of Economics
This hypermedia textbook is a broad and in-depth coverage of the study
of economics, and serves as both a fine tutorial and a comprehensive
reference. The valuable and important masses of numbers and analyses in
the economic field which litter the Internet are usefully focused by
this treatment of organizing ideas and principles. The chapters
include interactive multiple choice questions, where answers can be
checked with a click to receive helpful guidance.
Timeline of Famous Economists
Take a macro look, or click for micro views, of the essential economists of
the past three centuries. The thinkers are identified as classical,
Keynesian, or monetarist and their lifetimes are displayed as a
clickable bar on the timeline. There are three pages for each economist:
biography, work, and theories. The timeline links to related sections on
theories and policies. There is also an extensive, sophisticated
glossary of economics.
These pages are from the Virtual Economy project in the United Kingdom
which is based on the model of the economy used by the British Treasury.
The Website and the economics are quite sophisticated, and
student time spent here will be profitable.
