Chemistry Drills

These Chemistry Drill pages are designed for AP, IB, A-Level & 1st year university students trying to get to grips with the subject. Drill (quiz) topics currently include: Recognition of atoms, ions, salts, simple organic functional groups, molecular shapes, organic nomenclature, balancing chemical reaction equations, elucidation of organic molecular structures using spectroscopy and stereochemistry. Polymer Macrogallery

This tutorial is built of five levels chock full of information about polymers. Each level is represented in a graphic forming a plan of its own gallery floor. The first level demonstrates that polymers are everywhere, with sections on clothing, toys, hardware, pharmacy, and more. Complexity and difficulty ascend with the levels, and the sophistication of the sources becomes clear. The fifth level explores chemical science frontiers like nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, differential scanning colorimetry, and five more fields which here beckon students with explanations at the edge of science and animations sure to cause positive reactions. The Macrogallery project is based at the University of Southern Mississippi and supported by grants from the chemical industry.

Molecule of the Month (Chemistry)
Each month a new molecule is featured here by showcasing Webpages from a
university chemistry department or a commercial site. The pages are
submitted by their scientists-authors, and the collection of monthly
highlighted studies is a marvelous resource for students of molecular
matters.
