Many, many thanks indeed for the PhD awards and laudation which reached today. Words fail me to express my deepest feelings of gratitude and indebtedness to all the staff and committee members of the Cosmopolitan University for the rare privilege of being somebody.
In spite of my long years of experience and expertise, I had given up all hope of recognition. Because of lack of means we are stranded to toil in the dark clouds of unfair obscurity and anonymity. Your appreciation and trust are simply overwhelming. You have been the silver lining to many like me who did not have the proper chances in life.
Looking back, I have no regrets. I am confident that so long as there exists dedicated persons as at your institution, there will be hope for people like me to obtain proper recognition for their talents.

Dear Dr. Hollis, I was delighted to receive the Ph.D. diploma and related materials last Monday. Thanks also for the eulogy or "laudation" (as you call it). It reads fine and is quite complete with hardly anything left out. I also checked and printed out my listing on your online index of honorary doctors. Many thanks for this additional honour. A "Ph.D." is what I have wanted to add to my academic degrees for a long time, especially since many academics routinely refer to me as "Dr. P." This wish has now been realized. In studying the credentials of the many "universities" that offer online degrees before deciding to apply to Cosmopolitan, I found most of them utterly phony and their offer of transcripts quite fraudulent. But you are above board in every aspect that I was able to check. Except for a couple of things, you answered my questions without equivocations.
